Fact: It is possible to sell anything. All you have to do is market it correctly. Check out this bizarre example. For a few bucks in Palestinian coin, you can have The Palestinian Youth Forum spray paint the message of your choice on a wall in Palestine. They’ll send you pix of the message, and boom– you’ve got your own, personal globe-trotting graffiti.

Published by Talent Zoo in 2006, this article from Tattoo Projects proved to be a hit with the job-seeking crowd. We continue to get love from random people for this one, which is cool. The article tackles some tough subjects, including “It’s tough to make a good impression when your breath smells like a dead groundhog” and “Your shoes are saying nasty things about you”. You can read “Your Book is Fine, It’s Your Breath That’s Bad” here.

Our own Rudy Banny is just back from West Palm Beach. No, he wasn’t there for the 80 degree weather, the beach right outside his hotel window, or even the fab company. He was there to judge the ADDY Awards for The Advertising Federation of the Greater Palm Beaches. The winners will be announced February 23rd — just about the time his tan will start to fade. Wonder if they’ll need judges in Cabo anytime soon?

We get a lot of phone calls. We get people peering into the windows of our office, or being brave and coming on in. Their story is the same: they have thought about it for a long time, and they’ve finally decided to get that heart/butterfly/skull/name put on their ankle/arm/back/butt. And they’re always disappointed to find out that we’re an ad agency, and not a tattoo parlor. As one person commented, “This is the nicest tattoo parlor I’ve ever seen!” We do love a good tattoo, however. A blast from the recent past: Tattoo Projects sponsored the 2006 ANA Annual Conference in Orlando. We brought along Miami-based artist Gil Machado, and inked more than 20 senior-level marketers with real tatts. We also created ANA’s first-ever social networking site for their annual conference. Marketers who got tattooed included Eric Hadley, now of Heavy.com, and CBS Riot’s Rich Lobel. Gene Simmons didn’t get a tatt, but did enjoy hanging with the Tattoo Projects crowd. Same with Stuart Elliott, who covered the story in The New York Times:“ ”TATT’S ALL, FOLKS. One popular attraction was a makeshift tattoo parlor sponsored by Tattoo Projects, a marketing and production agency in Charlotte, NC. Rudy Banny of Tattoo Projects charmed about 20 people into getting tattoos — permanent ones, not the temporary type. The first to go under the needle was Eric Hadley, GM for the Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions unit of Microsoft, who was tattooed on his right foot with the names of his children, Francesca and Jasper, to accompany a previously acquired tattoo on his left foot bearing his wife’s name, Gina. Why did he do it? “I haven’t been to a conference that had a tattoo artist in a while,” Mr. Hadley replied deadpan.

To start off 2008, Tattoo Projects has enlisted Julie Roehm to help us kick some tail on a current project. We’re psyched, because she’s exactly the type of bad-ass, rule-breaking, big thinker we like to work with. Julie is a seasoned Marketing Strategist, former Senior VP Marketing Communications at Wal-Mart, and Marketing Communications Director at DaimlerChrysler. Most importantly, she and Buffy McCoy Kelly shared a stage as two of the Top Advertising Working Mothers of the Year, chosen by Advertising Women of New York and Working Mother Magazine. We look forward to having a great time with this project….
