Check out the final artwork for the Volt van we have been working on for the past month.  We are definitely more than pleased with the work our artist turned out.

Creativity In Display Advertising

displayGoogle recently put out an interesting article on display advertising and the future of interactive marketing.  The main advantage that display advertising has over all other forms of media is that it allows for a two-way interaction between users and makes things customizable to each user.  Technology is definitely taking advertising to a whole other level…think about the possibilities with stuff like Augmented Reality…you could be walking down the street, look up at a billboard for a product through a viewfinder and see a fully interactive ad that knows where you are, can tell you where to find that product or even let you purchase it online right there…it’s pretty crazy to think about.  Check out the full article here.

New Advertising for Old Spice looks

Old Spice’s new advertising consist of hilarious new  TV spots which focus on different kinds of Men as their target audience. They have also created a series of ‘rub n sniff’ print and poster work (shown) that will appear in men’s magazines such as Maxim and Men’s Health.

Their new product design is a bit cleaner but not too different from what they used to look like. We think it looks “Fresh, Fresher, Freshest, Freshershist!”

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

ahhhhMarch has been a pretty booming month for us here at Tattoo Projects…lots of late nights, long days and good times. We are juggling a lot of clients and planning some good things for the future; one of our favorite projects around here lately has been the Volt Van. That baby is at the shop as we speak getting all sorts of goodies added on to her, including a badass Zeus mural for the  side.  We just wrapped up shooting and editing the new commercial for Hoover Vacuums out in L.A, so look out for that in the near future.  We are also doing some pretty cool things for UNC Charlotte and First Reliance Bank. With all this work on our plate we had to bring in a couple of fresh faces around here…so, we would like to officially welcome aboard Derek and Sarah.  Derek is our new graphic designer and perhaps the biggest Carolina Panther fan we have ever seen.  Sarah is our new Creative Coordinator and she is a pretty serious Lady Gaga fan…and you know whats wrong with that?  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!  Look forward to more sick work from the Tattoo camp in the near future.

Passage of Health Reform

As I’m sure (or at least hoping….) that most of you know, President Obama has finally done it: free health care for all American workers! That’s all for now, watch the video! The view count of this, from the White House’s YouTube Channel against Lady Gaga’s new video is really quite sad… :/

I met the Walrus

In 1969, Jerry Levitan a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later he made a film about it. The animation is mind blowing.

We Have Two New Employees…

But Lady Gaga has a new music video…and it is probably the greatest thing any of us have ever seen.

A New Look in Body Paint

AlexaMeade5Installation artist Alexa Meade, based out of Washington, DC, has switched the game with acrylic painting by making live canvases – she’s painting people, objects, architecture, and more in a study of perception and space. She has an opening at Postmasters Gallery on Friday, April 2nd. If you’re in the city, I’d definitely check it out.

Hot Wheels Custom Motors Cup

Check out this “game” that hot wheels has designed to work through Youtube.  Basically the annotations allow you to pick different variables that affect the outcome of the race…it’s kind of like those kid’s books that give you options within the story, which then make you turn to different pages and change the whole outcome of the story.  It is very well put together and pretty damn creative.  I’m just glad someone finally used the annotation feature for something interesting.
