Importance of Brand Identity

The Gap clearly went wrong when it comes to their brand identity. As a very well-known and established company The Gap decided to change their logo, releasing the new one 3 days ago. Ever since…consumers have not been happy with it.

What does a logo say about a brand or company? Well, in fact, it says a lot. It is the image that everyone knows and is familiar with when thinking about a certain brand. Companies design a logo that is specific to their identity and one that will speak to and stick with its consumers. Changing a logo is risky, and can make consumers feel somewhat detached from what they always knew. This can be a nightmare for marketers and it is one that The Gap is in the midst of.
