Just in case you get thirsty while sunbathing…

McDonalds has the answer. What better way than to sunbathe under a McDonalds drink umbrella. These “umbrellas” are oversized McDonalds lids and straws. This new McDonalds campaign can be seen on the beaches in Toronto, Canada.

Uhh Thanks?

Award

We have received a 2009 best of business award, from the Small Business Commerce Association, for the best tattoo parlor in Charlotte!!!  Even though we leave lasting and permanent impressions on people, Tattoo Advertising has never picked up an actual tattoo gun.  We are really thankful for the award, because we like awards over here at Tattoo.

Sometimes we get the occasional call or walk in customer who is ready for that tattoo they have been thinking about, sorry everyone but we are merely in the business of tattooing your brains.

Bank Robbers=Natural Copywriters?

Creative Review posted an interesting blog entry about the persuasiveness of bank robbers’ notes.  Bank Robbers are quick and concise in their message and know what their target is, much like a copywriter.

Here are a couple of examples:

I have a gun in my bag.
Give me $5,000 please.
Thanks a bunch.

Do exactly what this says,
fill the bag with $100s, $50s and $20s,
a dye pack
will bring me back
for your ass, do it now.
Truely yours

Hand over your money please

and

Put the money in the bag, now.
Thanks.

It’s interesting to know how polite some of these bank robbers are when threatening the lives of other people.  Their parents must have raised them well… sort of.

The Rules of Advertising

Here is an old, yet humorous article that was posted on the BBC news website. The article is from an excerpt from a book by Michael Buerk that discusses various stereotypes and on-going themes that can be found in modern advertising.

Here are a couple of examples:
1. Men are obsessed with sex but will forego sex in order to watch football or drink beer.
2. Women are locked in a constant battle with their weight/body shape/hairstyle.
3. Career success is entirely based on your ability to impress your boss.

Cleaning up the office before the holiday weekend

Tattoo Projects doesn’t mess around when it comes to keeping clean. We hired a new intern (I Robot) to keep the place in order.   It even helps fetch beverages!

You’ll cry, you’ll laugh…..

Good intentions don’t make a good spot. Case in point: this spot about dog fighting for the Animal Rescue Association. From the sappy guitar music, to the Disney-esque talking dogs, to the over-the-top copywriting — wasn’t sure if the spot was a joke or not. I was waiting for Babe the Pig to step out and ask for donations.
